Ferals are an unusual variation of mortals that originate from a magical curse called Anyot's Kiss. The bloodlines affected by the curse take on animalistic qualities in their physical forms, and these traits are passed on to their offspring.
The curse originated in ancient Acrolon, but spread to other mortal realms. The only mortals that seem wholly unaffected by the curse are the nin of Tonwei Unchained.
