The Apparatus is the namesake of this setting, and is both a realm and a mechanism. As a mechanism, it is the pinnacle of Founder technology. As a realm, it is pervasive, connecting to all points of The Integrum.

General lore of The Apparatus is relatively common knowledge, especially in The Integrum. The most knowledgeable about The Apparatus are the Paragons of the Arcane. Part of their path to power is viewing The Apparatus directly and, if their sanity remains intact, gaining insight into how it works: The Apparatus is fueled by the energy of imprisoned Primals. This energy turns endless fractal gears that modulate the natural laws of The Integrum.
